COVID-19 Public Health Update

The health and safety of our patrons, staff, and artists are always top priority at Cape Live Shows.

In response to ongoing developments, and in an effort to preserve the health and safety of our valued patrons, employees, and artists, we have made the decision to postpone our production of MAMMA MIA. We want you all to know that while this was an emotional decision for our team to make—as we try our very best to never postpone programming—we feel it’s important to aid in the containment of COVID-19.

Our team has been closely monitoring this situation, and in communication with local and state authorities as we work together to devise a plan to tackle this momentary pause of arts and culture. We are confident that by promoting positive and effective social distancing now, throughout our local communities, we will be able to reduce the spread of this virus and begin the necessary work to return stronger than ever later this year.

For those of you not aware, the Barnstable Performing Arts Center, a beautiful state-of-the-art facility, is the theatre space for the Barnstable High School. As you can imagine, there are many factors in utilizing this type of space as an outside production company, and given the effect this current situation will have on school systems, along with our goal to always take preventative measures, we found it best to postpone our production of MAMMA MIA.

REFUNDS
Ticket holders for MAMMA MIA will receive an immediate refund—this may take 3–10 business days to show up on your end depending on your bank, but please know it has been processed in our system. We are working to finalize a postponement schedule for 2021.

SCHEDULE
At this time we still plan to produce a concert series later this summer. Patrons will be notified once future dates are finalized.

A HOPEFUL TOMORROW
While this is a particularly difficult time for us and all our theatre colleagues across the country, it is our hope that by taking preventative measures today, we can ensure the safety and wellbeing of all in the future. At this time, we would like to thank our staff for their diligent efforts to ensure theatre remains alive and well in Hyannis for years to come.

Please continue to enjoy all that the Barnstable has to offer. We encourage you to purchase takeout from our local eateries, secure gift cards to shops and cafes, and help out others who may be unable to leave their homes. Together we can ensure a safer tomorrow.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Till then,

Bill Hanney
